Asian Style Pepper Steak


lb of Boneless Sliced Thin Beef          
¼ Cup of Dark Soy Sauce
1 Red Pepper Julian Sliced                     
1 Green Pepper Julian Sliced
1 Tbl of Hoisin Sauce                 
2 Tbl of Corn Starch
1 Large Onion Sliced                              
1 Tsp of Red Pepper Flakes
1 Tbl of Chinese 5 Spice                         
2 Tbl of Canola Oil
Ground Black Pepper

In a bowl, mix dark soy, hoisan sauce, Chinese 5 spice, salt and pepper and a dash of red chili flakes. Then add
the cut beef coating it with the corn starch and let it sit in marinate for 15 - 30 minutes.

In a hot wok or fry pan add the oil. Take beef out of  the marinade removing as much of the sauce as possible
and add it to hot  oil frying it on all sides for about 3 minutes. Remove beef with all its juices  and it set aside. Add
a little more oil to the pan and fry cut vegetables starting with the onions with some salt and pepper until they
start to caramelize and get a little soft then add the rest of the vegetables stirring quickly until cooked but still
crisp. Remove vegetables to a serving plate.

Put beef back with it's juices into the hot pan and add the marinade. Stir beef until sauce is thick and hot and
pour it over the plate with the vegetables. Serve with white rice and spring rolls. Yield serves 2-4
