Sicilian Anchovy Pizza


Sicilian Pizza Dough Recipe

2 tablespoons olive oil
2 large cloves of garlic chopped
1 Medium onion chopped
Grated Pecorino cheese
8 - 12 canned anchovy fillets packed in oil
1 1/2 tbl of dried oregano
1 tsp of black pepper

Preheat oven to 375ºF.

Heat the olive oil in a large pan and add the onions. Cook on medium heat for about 10 -12 minutes, until soft and
golden. Remove and set aside.

Roll dough into a square and place into an oiled baking pan. Sprinkle a little more oil on top of the dough
spreading it to cover the entire surface. Now with your finger tips, work all the spices and the cheese into the
dough leaving it with little dimples.

Place the cooked onions on the prepared dough, leaving space around the edges for the crust. Place whole
anchovies evenly around on the dough.

Bake for 15 - 20 minutes directly in the pan or preferably using a baking stone.
